Mama Africa, directed by Afro-Venezuelan filmmaker Benito “Ifayemisi” Marquez, was filmed between Nigeria and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. It centers the spiritual and community leader, Solagbade Popoola, (Lagos Nigeria) and Lendis Solarte, cultural leader of the Afro-descendant communities in Bobures, Venezuela as the protagonists of the story.
